This was my first time travelling alone in UK. from birmingham by train it tooks me 2 1/2hours to reach london. by bus, without stopping, probably 3 hours, i suggests to take train but buy your tickets in advance, so that you can plan well, where are you hunting for food! nyomnyom! i definitely going back to london again in june. kinda rush for me before the unifair, because it was starting at 12noon and i reach london at 10.30am, i was supposed to find places for my breakfast.
my destination station was at london euston station, walk down the escalator and you will find euston underground station@nothern line. it takes me a long time to check which station do i need to change, as compared to taiwan, their underground wouldnt be so many lines and can only change station in certain station, so it's easy for tourist to look at the map. in london underground station, they call the line with name and not colour, so sometimes it kinda confuse.
but, luckily, i bought my oyster card, i top up for GBP10+deposit for the card GBP5. they said it will only change maximum GBP8 a day, and you can go everywhere you like. else, you can get the traveldaycard, if im not wrong, its GBP7+ perday, but only zone1+2, it will be different price for other zone, but for tourist, you just get zone1+2 will be more than enough. if you're visitng london more than once, get the oyster card! much more cheaper and convenient, you doesnt need to queue to buy the travelcard as the counter at euston station will always pack, get oystercard online and you can topup online, so convenient.
after arriving in london euston, from the underground station(find for the board), im going to burough market, so from nothern line(blackline) to you gotta go for the borough station else you can go down from london bridge if you want to visit london bridge. I visited the last time i went with uni mates, but im lost when i step on the road. luckily i get my googlemap(thebestmapappsever)! when u saw london dungeon on your left, thats the right direction, it will be on your right, go straight, until you see a traffic light, walk over, turn left, there you see a bridge *lookatmypicturebelow*
borough market will be on your right, walk down the stairs, folks of peoples waiting for their food prepared
i know right, you will be, huh, kinda traditional market, only selling, seafood, meats, vegetables, breads.. no lah, there are still nicenicefoods, like england breakfast set, hotdog, sausages, omg and i found some souveniers stall for me to bring back to malaysia. JAMss omg so cute, but i did not snap photos, i afraid peoples there hit me, seems weirdo to take their photos haha!
I thought of having duck sandwich as my breakfast, but when i saw many peoples queuing for this stall, im so curious and excited to taste what so nice about it. the roasted cheese sandwich and raclette. the taste its still in my mouth until now. so unforgettable! so damn yummy! but i had only tried raclette.
i gonna try this for my next trip to borough market.
i bought my raclette for 6$ its abit pricey though, but it;s worth.
